Domestic Violence in Nursing Practice

This continuing education course provides healthcare professionals with an evidence-based review of domestic violence, including epidemiology, risk factors, clinical indicators, trauma-informed assessment, safety planning, legal responsibilities, and multidisciplinary interventions. Emphasis is placed on the nurse’s role in early recognition, patient-centered communication, documentation, mandatory reporting considerations, and referral to support services. The course also examines ethical principles and strategies for promoting patient safety and long-term recovery.
